I. Am. FREE. Over. Done. Finito. At least within the foreseeable future.

I can’t believe it. Six years ago I was only starting out on my Bachelor of Psychology. Four years ago I was praying to just pass all my papers without incident. Two years ago I was freaking out over whether I could cut it in a postgraduate programme, let alone maintain a GPA of 3.0 and Distinction average. Five months ago I was writing my thesis. Today I hold an academic achievement and registration as a full psychologist. Quite potong stim, actually.
There are lots of pictures, from my own digital camera to professional pics. And Jules recorded the bit where I strode up to the Chancellor and said, “GIMME MY DEGREE, DAMMIT!! AND DON’T COMMENT ON THE MORTAR BOARD!!”
Kidding about the last bit.
Funniest moment ever? On two separate occassions, a Bachelor of Psychology grad came up to me and asked why I got the mortar board and they didn’t.
Um. Because I spent two extra years busting my sorry behind to earn a Master of Applied Psychology, majoring in Occupational/Organizational Psychology? The stupid hat attests to my ass-busting and proving my kung fu is the best (by accident). And stress. Lots of stress. Lots and LOTS of stress.
Actually I just asked if they were Bachelor’s or Masters recipients. Heh.
Kym’s name was in the programme, but she didn’t attend. Darn. I was hoping to have someone from the same major graduating with me. As it was, it was just me and a clinical psych major for Masters.
Jules had an idiotic moment while handling the video camera:
Ju: Oh crap!! Why isn’t there a picture on the screen?!
[Fiddles with the camera.]
Ju: Still nothing!! Crap!!
Pa: Did you open the lens cap?
[Jules checks.]
Ju: Oh. sheepish
He also went around harassing people after the ceremony, asking them how it was, etc. Truly, I despair. And to think he wasn’t looking forward to this because it was going to be a boring evening. Instead, he discovered his true calling – to become the next Peter Jackson. rolls eyes
Bumped into K’s bf, Colin, who was also graduating, so I knew she was nearby. It was nice to see a familiar face. Thanks for the congrats, K!! Pity we didn’t share the same ceremony, though.
