I love my mother, but sometimes she just doesn’t get it. Last night she saw a commercial for the BSB album and she called me over and said “Hey, Kris, look.” I looked and saw the end of the commercial (basically “Incomplete” with “BUY JUNE 14” printed across the screen).
I watched, then turned to her and said “Yeah? What’s up?”
She stared at me like I’d grown another head and said, “That was the Backstreet Boys, wasn’t it?”
“Yeah.”
“They have a new album coming out.”
“I know. Next week.”
“Well I didn’t know.”
“I’m a fan. I know these things. I’ve known they’re working on an album for about a year now. You’re not a fan. You don’t know these things.”
“But why am I just finding it out.”
Cause I didn’t tell you, Mom. Then my brother comes in and has to start raggin on me about how as of next week I’m going to be blasting it through the house so that everyone has to hear it and put up with it. Sorry, Ken, but I’m not you.
Now he’s making fun of me for taking the canopy off my bed. There is no pleasing him.
In other news, all my clothes are now in my armoir and (since Mom refuses to let me sell my dresser and bookcases so I can get an entertainment unit, all my CDs, VHS tapes, and the books I’ve already read are all in my dresser. I just need to go through and get rid of most of the VHS tapes (it’s all stuff recorded off the TV, I don’t need it). When that’s done I can put my DVDs into my dresser, too. After I clear off my desk and empty the drawers in there, I can re-arrange furniture and put my computer in my room. Mom wants to get rid of the table it’s on and put in a sewing machine. I can’t get rid of furniture and buy new stuff, but she can. Love that.
